2600 sedan was Alfa Romeo’s largest car from 1962-1968

This 6-cylinder 2600 sedan was Alfa Romeo’s largest car from 1962-1968. This is a very early unit from the first year of production and is one of only a handful in the USA. It is fully functioning and has been given a recent cosmetic restoration. Find it here on eBay out of Los Angeles, California.

Though we favor Alfa’s more sculpted sporting cars of the era, we really like this 2600 for its rarity and stately posture. The four lights up from remind us of its 2600 Spider sibling, and they steal some of the thunder from the usually dominant center grille.

The rear has large vertical lamps that remind us of a Rover product. The shaped chrome trim at the top of the rear wheels is one of the most stylized cues in the body design. All fo teh chrome has bee restored on this car… no small task.

The interior is simply beautiful. The large sweep gauge cluster looks fantastic, and the seller claims to also have an additional NOS unit. The signature black and while wheel is also in very nice condition. The big 2.6L 6-cylinder is very similar in design to Alfa’s venerable 4-cylinders which were much more widely produced.

We love the rarity of this car, and it is great to see it in this clean cosmetic condition. It would be amazing to put this car into service as a frequent driver or family vehicle as it was intended in the early 60’s. You just don’t ever see them.
