The new Ultimate Aero has 15% more horsepower and is theoretically capable of reaching over 290 mph (470 km/h), with 6th gear rated at a top speed higher than 300 mph (480 km/h).But if they can find a long enough stretch of road SSC predict "only" 287 mph (462 km/h) is possible.
